ESPN | College GameDay
Had the opportunity to design, animated, and composite some pieces for the ESPN| College GameDay show package. My assignment was to setup and animate the Saturday Slates, Endstamps, and Transitions. Big thanks to Compadre for inviting me on board.

Process
To speed up the process, I deployed assets from Greyscalegorilla and The Pixel Lab. The flag transition is seen up close, so I wanted it to feel more premium, unlike the background banners and ribbons in other shots where I setup quick sims and basic textures.
I used Greyscalegorilla’s 3D Printed Plastic Silk Silver material as a base and further modified it to create branded textures that resemble a synthetic fabric with a horizontal ribbed weave typically used for banners, emphasizing a lightweight, flexible feel with a smooth, slightly shiny finish.
I grabbed a flag asset from The Pixel Lab’s 3D Flags and Banners Pack to get to a higher-quality simulation faster, so I could focus on the animation of the final piece.
Compositing
The requirement for elements featuring the curved display wall was flexibility to easily swap the display footage. To achieve this, we used the RE:Vision RE:Map UV plugin, which allows re-texturing 3D objects directly in After Effects. Rendering and utilizing the UVW pass from Cinema 4D was an essential step in the compositing process.
Saturday Superdog Development
I also retextured the Superdog model and set up the environment for the Saturday Superdog segment before handing it off to another artist for animation.
